In the complicated world of audio electronics, there are a lot of details that can make a big difference in a group's overall sound. Sometimes there's just too many pieces of equipment and not enough time to figure everything out. Regardless of the occasion or type of ensemble, I can make your performances sound great.

Pit amplification is vital to any competitive marching program. I am available for hire on a consultant basis for any band programs that need assistance with setting up this type of equipment. My services include (but are not limited to):
  • Assessing and correcting microphone type and placement issues
  • Equalizing all input channels to obtain clear and characteristic sounds
  • Programming synthesizers
  • Organizing/labeling/categorizing equipment
  • Performing minor repairs
  • Generally streamlining your setup
Whether you have a budget to buy all new gear or you just need a bit of sound advice, call on me to keep your band cutting edge and competitive.

Ryan is on staff with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2010 season as the Sound Engineer for the front ensemble. He is primarily responsible for the balance and blend of the all the instruments in front ensemble, amplifying and equalizing 28-30 channels and inputs. These include, but are not limited to instruments such as marimbas, vibraphones, bass drum, tam-tam, tom drums, snare drums, chimes, timpani, bells and synthesizers. He travels with the corps during the summer and actively mixes the ensemble at every show (and most rehearsals), as well as maintaining and repairing the equipment throughout the season.
